Quality Improvement, Research, Electronic Persistent Pain Outcomes Collaboration (ePPOC), Australian Health Services Research Institute (AHSRI), University of Wollongong, NSW, Australia
The electronic Persistent Pain Outcomes Collaboration (ePPOC) is a program which aims to improve services and outcomes for people experiencing persistent pain through benchmarking of care and treatment. ePPOC involves the collection of a standardised dataset with validated assessment tools by specialist pain services throughout Australia and New Zealand to measure outcomes from care. With input from the Faculty of Pain Medicine, Pain Societies, Pain clinicians and the wider pain sector, ePPOC has introduced 10 Australasian benchmarks for the pain sector, facilitating better outcomes and best practice interventions for people with persistent pain. The information ePPOC provides enables the development of a coordinated approach to care at the patient, service and national level, and facilitates research into the optimal management of persistent pain. This talk will provide a brief summary of the Australasian ePPOC results to date.
