Physiotherapist, Pain Management Centre, Burwood Hospital, Christchurch, NZ
Lynne began her pain management physiotherapy journey at the Burwood Pain Management centre in 1999, with a background of working in both DHB and private settings, predominantly MSK. In 2003 she moved to UK with the idea of expanding her knowledge and practice by exploring pain management in other settings. This led to experiences in both private and NHS-based extended scope and clinical lead roles, within various pain and condition management teams. In 2015, serendipitous timing brought her back to Christchurch and the Burwood Pain Management team, with some still familiar faces! In this interdisciplinary setting she is involved with group and individual pain self-management programs, program development, education, mentoring, and supervision of physiotherapy colleagues. Lynne is extremely aware of the challenges presented by this often very complex client group and appreciates the benefits of working within an interdisciplinary team. She has an extended interest in management of CRPS and a growing interest in functional neurological disorders, which appear to becoming more prevalent within the chronic pain setting.
