Richard co-founded the Acute Pain Service at Christchurch Hospital in 1996 and has been the nurse leader for the service since then . He obtained a MSc Med (Pain Management) from
Sydney University in 2007. He has a special interest is pain in older persons. He lives in Christchurch with his wife and two daughters.
Reflections on 23 years in Acute Pain Management
Richard co-founded the Acute Pain Service at Christchurch Hospital in 1996. In this talk he takes a personal look back at where the Acute Pain Service began, where it is now ,where the future may lead and some of the hurdles, the highlights , the setbacks and the victories along the way.
